The School was founded in 1972 by Barbara Baylor Porter AMI (Association Montessori Internationale). The School welcomes children from three to six years of age. There are three classes, and two Montessori Directress/Directors in each class, one Anglophone Montessorian, and one Francophone Montessorian.

The children work through the basic disciplines of
Practical Life, Sensorial Development, Mathematics, Language, along with the Art Atelier, Music and the Brain, Geography, Sciences, Computer, and other activities.

The hours are from 9 AM until 12 noon for the three year old children. The older children stay until 3 PM, and have an optional program until 4 PM, three days a week. There is a Wednesday afternoon Computer Workshop.

The 3 classes welcome children from all over the world. One class has 18 children, directed by a French an English Montessori Directress. The other two classes are spacious, and welcome 30 children, directed by a French and an English Montessori directress full time. The trainees from l'Institut Supérieur Maria Montessori join our classes for six weeks each year.

There is joy, there is harmony, there is passion, there is a high level of learning. Results of the children who spend their three full years in our bilingual Montessori program are quite astounding. We have followed many of our graduates through their higher studies. They have reached their fullest potential, and enjoy their chosen careers in science, law, music, art, politics, journalism and theater. These early years are, indeed, the most important years of our lives. Learning must be stimulating and joyful. The bilingual Montessori classes are built on
RESPECT.
